Come ho detto la mia vita Subbuteo inizio' tanto tempo fa. Sfortunatamente altri impegni hanno intralciato la strada e tutto si fermo' fino al 1990 quando comprai un'Italia ed un'Inghilterra, giocando poi alcune partite. Poi di nuovo, nel Maggio di quest'anno, mentre stavo pulendo l'attico, la passione si e' riaccesa ed eccomi qui! Ero poi curioso di vedere se il Subbuteo ancora aveva un seguito oggi e facendo alcune ricerche su internet sono rimasto sorpreso! Mi sono poi aggregato ad alcuni gruppi Facebook.
Mia moglie voleva riprendersi il salotto dunque ho dovuto spostare tutta la mia attivita' Subbuteo nella casa al mare. E' bellissimo adesso ed ho anche installato luci e sistema PA audio con CD. Fa un po' freddo li di questi tempi ma mi diverto a giocare.
La mia squadra preferita e' il Tottenham Hotspurs. Ne sono tifoso sin dall'eta' di 5 anni!

1)Who are you, what do you do, where are you from and how's your life related to Subbuteo?
My name is Chris Burford, I live in Andover, Hampshire, and I’m 55 years old, well nearly 56.

2)What's your first memory about Subbuteo ? (your first time)
My Subbuteo began when I was about 11 years old, I was given the World Cup edition for Christmas and I became addicted until I was 15 and then stopped.
The first game was on the living room floor, then I used a sheet of MDF on the dining room table before moving back into the living room on a purpose built table.
2)Qual'e' il tuo primo ricordo del Subbuteo ? (La tua prima volta)

I suppose collecting and playing, although I’m not a true collector, I like playing for fun and obviously collect when I can.
After getting back at it I had the chance of a conversation with a local charity shop, they called me one day saying a collection had been handed in, I bought the whole lot which included about 40 teams, took what I needed and sold the rest on.
3)Preferisci collezionare Subbuteo, giocarlo o entrambi?
Penso entrambi anche se non sono un vero collezionista. Gioco per divertimento ma ovviamente colleziono quando posso. Appena mi e' ritornata la passione, ho avuto l'occasione di parlare con un Charity shop locale. Mi chiamarono dicendo di aver appena ricevuto in negozio una collezione di Subbuteo di 40 squadre. Comprai l'intero lotto, messo da parte quello che era di mio interesse e venduto il resto.

As for the organisations, I’m not really a serious player so not interested in joining anytime soon.

Non sono un giocatore professionale e non mi interessa unirmi a queste associazioni.

My subbuteo life as I mentioned started a long time ago, unfortunately other things got in the way and it all got thrown out until I bought Italy and England in 1990, had a few games and then in May this year while clearing the attic, the bug caught me and here I am. Then I was curious to see if Subbuteo was still as popular as it used to be, I was amazed when I searched the internet and so I joined a couple of Subbuteo Facebook groups.
My wife wanted her living room back so I have now moved in to the Summer house, it’s great, I have installed lighting and even have a PA system with a CD player. A bit cold this time of year but I’m out the house and enjoying playing.

My favourite team is Tottenham, a fan since I was 5 years old.

Yes, I do have a Subbuteo Stadium now, it’s grown and I never intended to build one but once you get the bug, there was no stopping me.

Si, ne ho uno adesso! E' cresciuto e non era mia intenzione di farlo ma appena mi e' preso lo sfizio , poi non sono riuscito piu' a fermarmi!

8)What do you prefer between the Traditional Old Subbuteo and the Table Soccer ? and Why ?
I suppose I have fond memories of the old Subbuteo but I sort of embrace some of the new rules although I think playing tournaments is not in my mindset as I do find the new style a little confusing. I’m happy playing with a couple of mate and solo.
8)Quale preferisci tra il Subbuteo Old Tradizionale ed il nuovo Calcio da Tavolo? e Perche'?
Penso di avere grandi memorie dell'Old Subbuteo anche se mi piacciono alcune delle nuove regole. Giocare tornei professionali non e' nelle mie corde anche perche' trovo il nuovo stile di gioco un po' confusionario. Sono felice di giocare con un paio di amici ed anche sessioni SOLO PLAY.
