Hello Subbuteo lovers! Here it is ! A new "10 For YOU" ! It has been a while but we are expanding our website and interests so. Anyway today we bring you to UK at Brackley to discover together an interesting guy who's contributing in spreading and keep Subbuteo alive! Let's see who Alan is:

1)Who are you, what do you do, where are you from and how's your life related to Subbuteo?

My Name is Alan Crampton, I am a CNC Machine Operator in Brackley.  I am a collector and Player of Subbuteo.

1)Chi Sei, cosa fai e perche' la tua vita e' correlata al Subbuteo?

Mi chiamo Alan Crampton e lavoro come operatore CNC a Brackley (UK). Sono un collezionista e giocatore di Subbuteo

2)What's your first memory about Subbuteo ? (your first time)

My first memory of Subbuteo was receiving the World Cup (First Edition) for Christmas in 1973.

2)Qual e' il tuo primo ricordo del Subbuteo ? (La tua prima volta)

Il mio primo ricordo Subbuteo e' il giorno in cui ricevetti  la prima edizione WORLD CUP come regalo di Natale nel 1973.

3)What's your main Subbuteo aspect that interest you? Are you a Player?Collector? or what else ? Tell us something about

I am predominantly a collector but I also play solo in the ISSL and have my own solo league. I have a website www.subbuteopassion.com and I also have a project that Ive recently started.  I am building a replica of Villa Park and currently doing the Trinity Road Stand. I was also staging my first Collectors Fair on Easter Sunday but due to the Coronavirus Pandemic it had to be postponed. I also run a Facebook Group called My Subbuteo Collection and Stories. (see point number 9 for all the link)

3)Qual e' il principale aspetto del Subbuteo che ti interessa? Sei un giocatore? un Collezionista? o altro ? di qualcosa a riguardo.

Sono principalmente un collezionista ma gioco anche in modalita' solo nel ISSL (International Subbuteo Solo League) ed ho anche creato ma la mia lega personale. Ho un sito internet www.subbuteopassion.com e sto lavorando da poco ad un nuovo progetto: creare una replica del VILLA PARK ed al momento sto ultimando il TRINITY ROAD STAND. Stavo anche per lanciare la mia prima Fiera Collezionisti Subbuteo per il periodo di Pasqua ma tutto e' stato rimandato a causa della pandemia CoronaVirus. Ho anche un gruppo facebook chiamato "My Subbuteo Collection and Stories". (Vai al punto 9 dell'intervista per tutti i links!)

4)What do you think about FISTF and WASPA circuits? Are you part of them ?

I have nothing against these circuits without actually claiming to know much about them, but Im very much 'Old Subbuteo'.

Non ho assolutamente nulla contro questi circuiti anche se ammetto di non sapere molto a riguardo. Io sono uno della famiglia "Old Subbuteo".

5)Tell us something about your Subbuteo website!

The website was started in February and is really a platform, where I want to bring the Subbuteo Community together.  With information about clubs, events, monthly features on Subbuteo Fans Subbuteo Projects, Stadium Builds etc etc etc.

5)Di qualcosa riguardo il tuo sito Subbuteo!

Ho iniziato il sito a Febbraio ed e' piu' una piattaforma dove voglio unire la comunita' Subbuteo. Ci sono informazioni su clubs,Eventi,Post Speciali ogni mese su Fans subbuteo e progetti, Creazione stadio, ecc.

6)What's your favourite team ?

Ive been a Aston Villa Fanatic since attending my first game in 1973.

6)Qual e' la tua squadra preferita ? 

Sono un fanatico dell'Aston Villa dal momento in cui andai a vedere la prima partita allo stadio nel 1973

7)Did you ever take part in Subbuteo Events? If YES which ones? Did you ever win any prize? If YES which ones?

None of the endorsed competitions but as a lad whilst in Secondary School I ran a league with my friends until we left school in 1979.  I won the league for the first two seasons without losing a game.

7)Hai mai partecipato ad eventi Subbuteo? Se SI quali? Hai mai vinto un premio?Se SI quale/i?

Non ho mai preso parte in competizioni ufficiali ma quando era ragazzino alle medie avevo creato una lega con i miei amici che duro' fin quando lasciammo la scuola nel 1979. Vinsi le prime due lege senza perdere nemmeno un incontro!

8)What do you think about the Old Subbuteo? Can you compare it with the modern Table Soccer?

Old Subbuteo is where I come from, you cant beat the old heavy weights.  The modern game is a totally different game in my opinion and requires a different skill set - but both thrilling to watch but I only play 'Old Subbuteo'.

8)Cosa pensi dell "Old Subbuteo"? Puoi fare una comparazione con il moderno Calcio Da Tavolo?

Io vengo dall'Old Subbuteo, non puoi battere le vecchie HW. Il gioco moderno e' totalmente un gioco diverso, secondo il mio modesto parere, e richiedi abilita' differenti. Sono comunque entrambi fantastici da guardare. Io gioco solo alla versione Old.

What is your biggest Subbuteo regret?

 - As a lad, turning into a young man and putting Subbuteo to one side and not realising the value of what I had.  I pretty much had everything up to the 1979 Catalogue except for box sets. Also over 350 teams, mostly heavyweights and some lightweights. I did continue playing for a while but also repainted many as changing strips in real life became a common occurrence.  I painted over some very rare teams.  I also lost the majority of my Subbuteo when I left home and it was cluttering my parents home. It disappeared somewhere.  All but half a dozen teams which I managed to retrieve a last year.

Qual e' il tuo piu' grande rimpianto legato al Subbuteo?

Certamente quello di aver voltato le spalle al Subbuteo da giovane senza realizzare il suo valore. Avevo quasi tutto dai cataloghi nel 1979 eccetto le BOX SETS EDITIONS. Piu' o meno 350 squadre, la maggior parte di cui HW ma anche alcune LW. Ho continuato a giocare per un po' e ne ho ridipinte alcune, cambiando le righe o altro. Ho perso la maggior parte del materiale quando lasciai la caotica casa dei miei. Saranno sparite chissa' dove. Fortunatamente sono riuscito a recuperare una dozzina di squadre l'anno scorso.
