BOLOGNA TIGERS SUBBUTEO ! 

1)Chi Sei, cosa fai e perche' la tua vita e' correlata al Subbuteo ?

Sono Fabrizio Fedele, impiegato vivo in Abruzzo a Cepagatti (PE). Gioco a Subbuteo dal 1985, avevo appena 10 anni e mi prestò la squadra il mio amico Michele. Da quel momento in poi a parte qualche annetto, non ho mai smesso di far scivolare le miniature sul campo.

1)Who are you, Where are you from and how's your life related to Subbuteo? 

I am Fabrizio Fedele, office worker living in Cepagatti (PE), Abruzzo, Italy. I play Subbuteo since 1985, I was 10 years old when my friend Michele lent me a team. Since that moment I never stopped flicking figures on a pitch (only missing few years since then).

2)Qual'e' il tuo primo ricordo del Subbuteo ? 

Il mio primo tocco è stato appunto nel 1985 sul campo del cugino di Michele, il primo torneo il regionale Abruzzi-Molise che si organizzò a Giulianova nel 1988, il Torneo Stop&Look, dove conobbi tantissimi giocatori, molto forti. 

2)What's your first memory about Subbuteo ? (your first time)

The first touch was in 1985 on my cousin Michele's pitch, my first tournament was the Regional Abruzzo-Molise organized in Giulianova in 1988 called "Stop&Look" where I met many strong players.

3)Quando hai/avete fondato il vostro Subbuteo Club? Spendi due parole sul club.

In regione abbiamo avuto diversi club. IO ho avuto il piacere di associarmi al mitico CASP, Club Adriatico Subbuteo Pescara del Presidentissimo Virgilio Golini, affiliatosi nel 1977, club che si sciolse nei primi anni 90. Altro club fu il Brasilia Chieti, che venne fondato nel 2005. Al quale mi affiliai anche io nel 2007. Attualmente sono tesserato con I Bologna Tigers Subbuteo, fondato nel 1975.

3)When was your Subbuteo club born ? Say something about it.

We had several clubs in our Region. I had the pleasure of joining the great CASP, Club Adriatico Subbuteo Pescara created by the president Virgilio Golini who joined in 1977; the club closed in the first part of '90. Another Club was the Brasilia Chieti, founded in 2005. I joined it in 2007. Im actually cardholding with Bologna Tigers Subbuteo created in 1975.

4)Hai mai partecipato ad eventi Subbuteo ? Se si quali ? ed inoltre ci puoi dare qualche dritta su dove acquistare Subbuteo in Italia e all'estero ?

Eventi di Subbuteo si, ho partecipato a numerosissimi tornei. I più belli sicuramente il Criterium di Bari del 1989, il Guerin Subbuteo, i campionati italiani di subbuteo AICIMS e AICAT (anni 80-90). Recentemente Champions League a Atene con il Brasilia (5° posto a squadre), Serie A, B, C ed interregionale (Brasilia con relative promozioni), la Serie A e la Champions League a Rocheford con Perugia, L’Europa League vinta a Roma con i Bologna Tigers , la Champions League con i Bologna Tigers (semifinalisti) e spero tanti altri.

4) Did you ever take part in Subbuteo events ? If Yes which one ? also where can we buy Subbuteo Items in your city ? Addresses are much appreciated for our followers.

Yes I took part in many Subbuteo events. The most beautiful ones are definitely the Criterium in Bari (1989), the Guerin Subbuteo, the Italian Subbuteo championships AICIMS and AICAT (eighties and nineties). Recently the Champions League in Athens with Brasilia Chieti club (we got the 5th place as a team); the Series A,B,C and Inter-Regional (We did all the way promotions always with Brasilia club); the Serie A and Championsleague in Rocheford with Perugia; the Europa League won with the Bologna Tigers in Rome; the Champions League Semi-Finals with Bologna Tigers and I hope many more to come!

5)Oltre a giocare il Subbuteo sei anche un collezionista?

Si colleziono tutti i giochi da tavolo legati al calcio dagli anni 30 agli anni 70. Ho tutte le box series della Subbuteo e alcune squdre ed accessori molto vecchi.

5) Besides playing Subbuteo are you also a collector?

Yes, I collect all the Soccer Table Games made in the years between 1930 and 1970. I have all the Subbuteo Box sets and some very old teams and accessories. 

6)Qual'e' la tua squadra preferita ?

Il Melchester Rovers o la Floriana ref. 36.

7)Qual'e' secondo te la squadra piu' rara ? 

Ce ne sono tantissime Non è facilissimo fare una classifica. Il meccanismo di determinazione del valore di un pezzo ha tantissime variabili, non solamente dovute alla rarità e alle condizioni. Comunque, per fare dei nomi, e rimanere nell’ambito di ciò che almeno una volta è apparso sui cataloghi ufficiali, direi quelle hw che sono state prodotte per un solo biennio 1968-1969, tipo Dundee 49 gold black shorts, Plymouth Argyle 54 total green kit, Crystal Palace 1968 n.40 bianca con bande rossoblu.

7)Which one is the rarest team for you?

There are so many of them. It's not easy to make a list. The way you can give a value to a team has many variables not only linked to the rarity or the item's condition. Anyway, just to give out some names in order to focus on the topic of what was published at least once in the official catalogues I would say the HW produced in 1968-1969 like Dundee 49 gold black shorts, Plymouth Argyle 54 total green kit, Crystal Palace n.40 white with red and blue stripes.

8)Sei un forte giocatore di Subbuteo ? Hai mai vinto tornei/campionati etc. ? Se si quali ?

Sono un buon giocatore che si sta affacciando da poco ai tornei che contano. Ho fatto calcato quasi sempre campi di“periferia”. Lo scotto c’è stato, ma recupererò. Tornei si ci sono stati come ho detto prima.

8)Are you a strong Subbuteo Player? Have you ever won tournaments/championships etc. ? If YES , which ones?

I am a strong player which is slowly getting to play the big and important tournaments. I mostly played "suburbs" before. I will recover the time I lost till now. I already said in the previous answers the events I took part in.

Cos’è per te il subbuteo?

Il Subbuteo, un gioco che mi infuoca dentro le viscere, un gioco che ha entusiasmato milioni di bambini, di ragazzini e di adulti e che ancora oggi  mantiene vivo il bambino che è dentro ognuno di noi. Questo vuole essere un compendio sulla storia e un viaggio tra i documenti del nostro “giochino”, che a volte prende il sopravvento e ci travolge, spingendoci anni luce indietro nel tempo, trasformandoci in grandi manager inglesi o in intraprendenti allenatori in grado di battere qualsiasi corazzata. Bè questo era il Subbuteo, questo è il Subbuteo per noi. Uno tsunami di emozioni e allora era necessario un viaggio nel Tempo, una ricerca agli albori, per capire perché è nato, ma soprattutto per quale motivo ha preso il sopravvento sugli altri giochi dell’epoca.

What's Subbuteo for you ?

Subbuteo, a game which burns myself from the inside, a game that excited millions of kids and adults and still keeps alive the kid inside ourselves nowadays. This is a compendium on the history and trip amongst the Subbuteo documents which sometimes have the upper hand overwhelming us and bringing things back at many years ago transforming ourselves in great English managers or resourceful coaches able to beat any opponents. So that was Subbuteo, This is the Subbuteo for us. A tsunami of emotions so it was necessary a travel back in time, a research from the dawn to understand why it was born but especially why it became so much popular than the other games at its time.

We are very glad when we find Subbuteo people that really give us their precious time respecting also what we are doing with Actually Soccer. Thanks a lot Fabrizio! We wish you lot of success with the Bologna Tigers !!!
